Cross-Training
From TableTennisTraining
This page is devoted to other forms of physical training that can help improve one's skill at table tennis such as running, stretching, etc.
Swimming
Swimming laps as expected works the legs, lower back, abs, sholders and arms. Unexpectedly, I have found that my wrists and forearms are also quite a bit stronger. I feel like I have better control over the paddle and better touch.
Wii Fit
Most of the Wii fit balance board exercises have you standing on one leg or holding a particular position using both legs. After a couple of months of use, I find that it is easier to hold the ready position where you are balanced forward on the balls of your feet. Also my foot work is just all around better and I have had almost no incidents of misstep (almost falls).
